Earth-friendly moving: Mesa Moving & Storage has long incorporated Moving Green without compromising our legendary customer service.
How do we do it?
We put the four R's – Reduce, Reuse, Recycle and Recover – into action on every office move. With Mesa Moving & Storage you can make a choice that benefits the environment and your company with an eco-friendly solution to a quality move. Mesa is careful to conserve fuel, cardboard, and electricity. We can also attend to reduction and recycling of consumable materials. The Mesa system addresses all of these issues through specifically engineered equipment and processes.
In addition, Mesa Systems can assist your company in recycling and responsibly disposing of your excess furniture and electronics.
Plastic Totes
Mesa's plastic tote system has revolutionized this industry by eliminating the need for cardboard boxes. This has a significant and beneficial effect on the environment. Also, more contents fit onto one dolly and, therefore, fewer elevator loads (less electricity) and fewer truckloads (less fuel) are required to transport your things.
Crew Cab Trucks and 15 Passenger Vans
Despite the obvious environmental benefits, few movers have been willing to invest the additional money into crew cab trucks and vans. Because our crew cab trucks hold 5 to 6 people versus 2 or 3, it takes approximately half the fuel to get our crews to and from your locations.
Building Protection and Other Materials
All materials used for protecting your locations are reusable and recycled materials. Mesa also recycles the bubble-wrap that is used for protecting your valuable electronics.
Mesa Systems has consciously invested significantly for many years in that which would allow our Office Moving to be as eco-friendly as possible. When you move green with Mesa, you make a choice that benefits the environment more so than a typical office move.
Be Bright About Light
ENERGY STAR-qualified light bulbs use about 75 percent less energy than standard incandescent bulbs, and can last up to 10 times longer. What's more, they produce about 75 percent less heat, so they can cut cooling costs.
Maximize Computer Efficiency
Set your computer to automatically "power down" or sleep after a period of inactivity. If you're not going to use your computer for more than 20 minutes, turn off the monitor. Going to be away for more than 2 hours? Shut down the computer entirely.
Go Paperless When Possible
Store information electronically, instead of in filing cabinets. Instead of printing documents, send them through e-mail or on disc. Reduce the number of faxes you send by e-mailing PDFs.
Print Smarter
When you have to print, use both sides of the paper and use paper that contains post-consumer recycled content. Before you print, use the "print preview" feature to eliminate pages with single lines of text. When your printing cartridges run out, recycle them at your local office supply store.
Ramp Up Your Recycling
Add bins for recycling aluminum and plastic. Don't throw away old electronics, recycle them! While you're at it, recycle your CFL light bulbs, too.
